My big dogs' empty plastic chow bags were the inspiration to find a way to repurpose those beefy plastic bags and give them a second life, rather than sending them empty to the landfill.   But what I created also worked for gardening mulch, soil and many other types of large, robust plastic bags that you'd normally just chuck in the trash.  With a BDHP trash can you may never have to buy virgin plastic trash bags again and that's a win for your wallet and the planet.

Don't think for a second they're only good for trash.  I now use them as a composting bag, dirty laundry hamper, and rag bin for the shop.  Got a creative use? Let me know about it.

This regular BDHP version accommodates most 30-40 pound dog food bags or 1 to 1.5 cu ft (28.3 - 42.5 l) garden soil and mulch bags.

Simply insert the bag between the posts, lift the edge of the bag over the rim piece and let the spring loaded clasp do the rest.  It holds the bag securely so you can really stuff trash in. When full, duct tape, clear tape, staples or ties can be used to close the bags (not included). Because most bags are more robust than virgin plastic bags, you'll greatly reduce the broken trash bag events that can ruin your day and cause litter to escape into the wild.  Comes with little cork feet so you don't scratch your floor.

Patent Pending

Construction is 99.999% metal (except for the cork feet and the branding sticker) making this a circular economy product that is infinitely recyclable unlike plastic which can only be down-cycled 2-3 times max.   Best of all, there is no plastic what-so-ever in the product or its making.  I use 100% natural Ponderoasa Pine needles from Colorado as internal packing (and/or re-use existing packaging when available to keep it out of the landfill) and of course cardboard is also recyclable.

  • So none of this is about the money per se.  Yes, we need to make enough to keep the lights on but the idea is to change the narrative about the trajectory we're on; from one of buy, buy, buy throw-away consumerism to one of, how can we be a better species and share with the other life forms on this planet?  To that end, with every purchase of an item with the GIVEBACK section, I will give a dollar to any one of the outstanding organizaions below (make your choice in the comments section when you check out): Non-human Rights Project, Mongabay, Captain Paul Watson Foundation, Center for Biological Diversity, International Rhino Foundation, African Parks, The American Chestnut Foundation, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Wild Aid.  We'll send the check out at the end of the year.  If you want to be notified also leave your email address,  Have a suggestion for groups doing good work?  Let me know about them too.
